GENERAL QUESTIONS
Is this a printed magazine? NO IT IS NOT ! We do not have the money to print it. Nevertheless there is an option that allows you to have a printed example by uploading the PDF to sites like lulu.com or Blurb. We also put the issue online for those that do not want or do not know hot to upload the PDF. See "financial aspects" further below for more information.

Why was there a break from Winter 2007 until September 2009  ? Boris, Oda and me had to work a lot in our "real-life" jobs so we had no time to continue the project. But due to nearly two dozen of mails asking when the next issue will be published, i felt like guilty to reanimate the project.
So in September 2009 the ezine re-appears on the net.

Why did you changed the name ? The main head behind all of this, Carlos, was seeking for a more common and (unfortunately) trendy word. When in summer 2009 at the Tour De France the word "Epo" was present on all media, his idea was about to find some connection with if if the ezine would ever be back. As Erythropoetin is a trademark something new had to fill the space for the medium and as you can see Carlos found some :)

FOR FLICKR PHOTO PROVIDERS
As a photographer, will you pay me for publishing one of my photos ? Unfortunately not. We are an average of 3 people working on the ezine developing it in our sparetime so there is no money to pay you for, sorry.

Ok, but if one of my photos is published, is this then exclusive to you ? Nope it isn't exclusive for us. You can continue to do with it whatever you want to and our aim is to support you at this point by spreading it out to the world by informing about your flickr account where people can see your other work.

How does the "photo of flickr photographer" workflow look like? We search within on flickr for new photos. Depending on the picture itself, we think about what column it can fit it and contact the photographer. If the photographer does not allow us to use the photo, we write a thank you mail to confirm that we are NOT going to use the photo as we do not have their permission.
If the photographer allows us to use the photo we try to find the time to say "thanks in advance".
Nevertheless all photographers who allows us to use their photo and their photo is published inside an issue, will be contacted as soon as the issue is published and put online.

FINANCIAL ASPECTS
Do you sell the ezine ? We do not sell the ezine itself. The ezine is published as PDF file format for easier distribution. But a lot of photographers and readers have asked us to publish it as papermag. As we do not have the money, we offer the ezine through lulu.com where users can buy the ezine. Wheter someone buys the colored or the much cheaper blad-white version of the ezine, we just earn 1 US per issue sold.

How is the selling price of the printed version calculated ? We do not set the prize - lulu.com does it. The price of the printed version at lulu.com depends on the amount of pages and whether you want to have the black-white or colored version. What we do, is add 1 $US to the price. This dollar is more like a donation for the work at the urban sports guerrilla on www.endorphinum.de

I don not want to offer you money, so i do not want to buy your lulu.com version. How can i safe this dollar for me ? Simply by taking the PDF and uploading it to lulu.com and print it out for yourself without reselling it.

Can i resell the PDF  ? You are strictly forbidden to resell the PDF or print it in bulk as you do not have the written permission by ALL photographers and ALL authors represented in that issue. It's not that we do not would like to, but it is not fair agains the content contributers.

So how do you make money ?
Our main mission is to waken up the sports media industry by offering a new form of magazine. And as second target the EPO mag (formerly known as Beta-Sway) is published to promote the www.endorphinum.de project. We think that there are much more common ways to have a financial benefit that not only we but also our community likes.
